SUPER Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi has resumed preseason
training with Tianjin TEDA ending months on speculation about his future with
the Chinese side, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Nigerian international, who upload pictures of the
team’s first training session on his official Instagram page, said he is
looking forward to an exciting season in the Chinese Super League.
“Pre season with
Tianjin TEDA 🇨🇳Hard work for the new season and an exciting
year ahead ⚽️,” he posted along with the pictures via @mikel_john_obi.
Mikel joined Tianjin TEDA from English Premier League
side Chelsea after spending about 11 years at the London club.
The Nigerian captain has been linked with a return to the
Premier League as he was linked with Everton, while French side Marseille are
also believed to be interested. But Fenerbahce are reportedly keen to land the
star as Turkish news portal Sabah had reported that the 30-year-old was set to
sign a contract which runs to June 2020 and in a deal worth €3-million per year
before the close of winter transfer window in Europe on Wednesday.
It is now believed that Mikel, who penned a contract
through to the end of 2019 when taking the decision to head for Asia, seemingly
has no intention of breaking that agreement.
