LMC fines Nasarawa Utd N2m

By Akeem Lawal
NASARAWA United have been fined a total sum of N2million by the League Management Company for various breaches of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Framework and Rules.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the disciplinary actions arose from the failure of the club to ensure adequate security, crowd control and restriction of unauthorized persons from restricted areas during the game against Plateau United in the NPFL match-day one encounter held at the Lafia Township Stadium.

The Solid Miners lost the game 1-0, no thanks to 87th minute strike by Raphael Ayagwa.

In a series of tweets by LMC on Friday, Nasarawa United were ordered to pay N1million for the lapses during the game and another N1million being compensation for assault on the match officials.

“Nasarawa Utd failed to ensure adequate security, crowd control & restriction of unauthorized persons from restricted areas during the game #NASPLA

“Nasarawa Utd's lack of crowd control & failure to restrict unauthorized persons from technical areas led to their supporters gaining unlawful access to the dressing room of the refs at half time.

“Furthermore, Nasarawa Utd's failure to ensure adequate security, crowd control & restriction of unauthorized persons from restricted areas led to the attack & assault of match officials at half time & after the match #NASPLA

“A fine of N1m has been imposed on Nasarawa Utd for failure to ensure adequate security & crowd control which violates #NPFL Framework & Rules #NASPLA

“Nasarawa Utd will also pay N1m, being compensation for assault on the match officials, that is N250,000 each to the referee, AR1, AR2 & 4th official (reserve ref) #NASPLA,” LMC said via @LMCNPFL.
