Fans to pay up to 35k to watch Ekundayo fight

BOXING fans are to pay as much as almost N35,000 (£70) to watch Nigerian boxer, Larry ‘Natural’ Ekundayo as he makes  a return to the ring once again on Saturday, March 3, after injury lay-off, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The London-based former African welterweight champion and Prizefighter winner Ekundayo (12-1, 3KOs) is the latest addition to MTK Global’s ‘High Stakes’ fight card at the Brentwood Centre in Essex. 

The card will mark Ekundayo’s first outing since he suffered his first pro loss, dropping a split-decision loss to world-title challenger Gary Corcoran last July.

The 35-year-old revealed on his Facebook page that tickets for the March 3 bill range from £40 (about N20,000) , with £60 (about N30,000) table tickets (including service) available while ringside table seating (including service) are priced at £70 (about N35,000).

“I will be having my comeback fight after hand surgery! Tickets are now available and the tickets are going super fast.

“MTK show, high stakes on Saturday 3rd March at Brentwood Center, Essex CM15 9NN. Tickets prices are, £40 Standard tickets, £60 VIP Table with waitress tickets £70 Ringside VVIP Table with waitress service,” Ekundayo revealed.

Southern Area light-middleweight champion Matt McCarthy (18-1, 4KOs), Irish Elite amateur champion Gary Sweeney; London light-heavyweight prospect Dan Azeez (1-0); Super-middleweight  Mitchell Redmond and Essex middleweight Tey Lynn-Jones (9-1) are also set to feature.
