NPFL: Gata doubtful for Kwara Utd opener against Tornadoes

By Akeem Lawal
Kwara United forward, Ismail Adeshina Gata is a serious doubt for the club’s Nigeria Professional Football League match day one fixture at home to Niger Tornadoes this coming weekend due to injury, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The former IfeanyiUbah and Niger Tornadoes striker suffered the injury in the team’s 4-2 loss to Go Round FC on penalties after playing goalless in normal regulations period in the opening match of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League Super Four held at the ‘Soccer Temple’ Agege Stadium in Lagos on Sunday.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the encounter, Coach John Obuh said he will have to assess the player to know the extent of the injury.

“I have to see the player later to know the degree of the injury. i did not have a clear picture of what led to the injury I was just concentrating on the game. Maybe when I meet the team I will be able to assess him very well. All the same it was a good game on their side because we failed to take our chances,” Obuh said.

Go Round will now take on the winners of Monday’s clash between Heartland FC of Owerri and Remo Stars in a match that has been tagged the Titans clash in the final on Tuesday, while Kwara United will play the losers in the third place match.
