SUNSHINE Stars captain, Sunday Abe has highlighted the
progress made by his team in the games played in the opening month of the 2017/18
Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) campaign.
Academy graduate, Kehinde Adedipe scored a terrific
volley as the Owena Waves edged El-Kanemi Warriors by 1-0 in a NPFL matchday 6
tie at the Ondo State Sports Complex on Wednesday to secure their third
straight home win of the season, one which moved the Akure Landlords into the
top four of the log with 11 points from six matches.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Abe said the victory
over the Maiduguri based side attest to the fact that the team in making progress,
even though they still need to play more with confidence.
"We thank God almighty for the victory and we will
continue to thank Him. In the last couple of matches we have conceded so little
and it shows we are already making progress. We will still go back to the
drawing board to make sure we score more goals.
"We still have to play with more confidence so as to

Sunshine Stars next face champions, Plateau United in Jos
on Sunday in one of the matchday seven pairings.
