.Praise takes charge in top scorer race
LAGOS State representative, Ijaye Housing Estate Senior Secondary High School striker,
Fagbolade Praise took another big step towards emerging the highest goalscorer
at the zonal preliminaries of the 2017 NNPC/Shell Cup, Ijebu-Ode zone by hitting
target once again in a 4-0 victory over Hollab College from Kwara State on Thursday.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the 16 year old Praise registered his fourth goal of the
campaign just before the break by capitalizing on the defensive lapses of their
opponent after Toriola Moses’ opener. Okolo Dalinton and Lawal David then
scored two second half goals to seal victory for the Coach Adeshina Yusuf-led
side in a match decided at the Ijebu-Muslim College.
In a chat with sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the encounter, coach of
the Lagos side, Adeshina Yusuf said his players will continue to improve game
after game and will be a tactical approach to their game against group leaders,
Oyo State on Friday.
“My boys played well again today and I know they have not
yet reach their potential. They will continue to improve as we progress in the
competition. We will be playing two matches tomorrow (Friday) against Kogi in
the morning and Oyo in the evening. I know the team from Oyo State will be
tough for us considering their performance here. It will be a tactical approach
because we need to be discipline in the defense so that we will not allow them
to play free flow football,” he assured sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
In the other matches of the center, Asegun Comprehensive
High School from Oyo State continue their winning streak by beating Kwara team
3-0 in the morning and also defeating Saint Daniel International College, Ondo 4-0
in the evening fixture.
Edo State team, Hensen Demonstration School continue
their dominance at the Adeola Odutola center by defeating Osun State side, Islaudeen
Middle High School 2-1, while Christ School from Ekiti defeated Mastercare
International School from Delta 3-1 and also played a 1-1 draw with Community
High School, Akwa Ibom in their second game of the day. Islaudeen Middle High
