defeat to MFM
By Akeem Lawal
SHOOTING Stars Sports Club (3SC) striker, Ajani Ibrahim is vehemently praying for the survival of the Ibadan-based side after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM FC) in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 24 encounter on Sunday, sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Shinshinma Monday's 21st minute strike helped the Olukoya
Boys claim their first top flight win over Oluyole Warriors and condemned the
coach Fatai Amoo’s team to the bottom of the log with 26 points from 24 games.
In a chat with sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after the encounter held at
the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos, Ajani who was replaced by Isiaq Rafiu
towards the end of the first half, said the team deserved at least a draw from
the encounter.
“I felt bad that I did not finish the match, it was not
good for me. I just want to play for Shooting Stars because I love the club. I
had malaria before the match and that affected me during the game and I just
tried to manage the situation. I felt bad about the result because we played
well but were unlucky in front of goal.
“As you can see, we created chances but we could not
convert our chances. We are not happy with the result because at least a draw
would have been okay for us. We will continue to fight hard in our subsequent
games and I pray that we won't go on relegation,” the former Sunshine Stars
forward told sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
