Gata's stunning display in ABS's 2-1 win over Niger Tornadoes in the NPFL match  week 22 where he made the two assists only led to further comparisons to Messi – one of the all-time greats.

After the display, the highly gifted playmaker received praises from all quarters including ABS Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, who uploaded a picture of the player on his Facebook page and wrote, "The little Messi of the Nigeria Professional Football League Adeshina Issa Gata of ABS ILORIN FC."
