SUPER Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong has
congratulated the players who made their official debut for the senior national
team during the international friendly against Togo on Thursday night, sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Three goals in under half an hour, including a brace by
Leicester of England’s Ahmed Musa and a goal from Kelechi Iheanacho steered the
Super Eagles past the Hawks at the Stade Municipal Saint Leu la Forêt stadium
in France.
A total of ten players made their debut including Ekong’s
central defence partner Chidozie Awaziem, Premier League bound Henry Onyekuru, Dutch-born
Nigerian footballer, Tyronne Ebuehi, Olanrewaju Kayode, Victor Osimhen, Mikel
Agu, Dele Alampasu and Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) trio of
Sikiru Olatunbosun, Stephen Odey and Ibrahim Alhassan.
The former Tottemham Hotspur defender is however honoured
to put on the captain’s armband following the substitution of the games
captain, Elderson Echiejile, who made way for MFM forward, Stephen Odey in the
87th minute of the encounter.

The Super Eagles were using the match as preparation for
the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa.
Nigeria will host Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio
International Stadium in Uyo on the 10th of June 2017.
