CHELSEA winger, Victor Moses is delighted with his
current form at the club so far this season.
The Nigerian international spent the last three seasons
out on loan, first at Liverpool, then with Stoke City and last season at West
Ham United as he was forced down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
However, the 25 year old has enjoyed a great start to
this season under new manager, Antonio Conte coming off the bench in the Blues’
opening two Premier League games to great effect, forcing West Ham back into
their own penalty area with his direct running last week and causing Watford a
number of problems on Saturday after replacing Pedro. Both games ended in 2-1
Chelsea victories.
“I’m pleased with
my form but the most important thing is the wins,’ the Super Eagles forward told the official
Chelsea website.
“We’ve taken six points from two games so the players,
manager and fans are all really pleased. We’re just going to keep working hard;
we know every game is difficult so we’re taking it step by step.
“I’m feeling good. It’s important for me to take my
chances when I get them and keep working hard for the team. The most important
thing is for us to keep on winning games and on a personal note I just need to
focus on doing what I’m good at out on the pitch and enjoying myself.’
Moses’s compatriot Mikel Obi will return to Cobham on
Wednesday following his exploits with the Nigeria team at the Olympics in
Brazil, where they finished third after beating Honduras in the bronze-medal
match on Saturday.
“I was watching the games,’ Moses reports. ‘Obi was the
captain, the leader of the side and he did really well for them. It wasn’t easy
for them to go out to Brazil and win a medal so I’m very proud.
“They did their best so to come home with a bronze medal
is great and I hope the whole country are proud of them.’
