WITH two Technical Knock Outs, (TKO) in two professional
boxing bouts, one of Nigeria’s emerging Bantamweight boxer, Lasisi Aliu is upbeat of becoming a world
champion in his weight category.
The Qatari-based pugilist few weeks ago defeated Payu Sor
Kounlavung of Thailand in the opening round and cruised to a lopsided unanimous
decision victory. All three judges – Edward Ligas, Mekin Sumon and Sawaeng
Thaweekoon – had it 60-53.
In a chat with sportsbiz247.blogspot.com from his base, Lucky
Boy as fondly called disclosed that after defeating Kounlavung he is ready for
any boxer.
Aliu, whose next fight will hold in September but his
opponent has not been named said he is not worried about that as he is
concentrating on his training ahead of the fight.
In his words, “With two wins from two fights, I’m battle
ready for any boxer that comes my way in September, my next opponent is in for
real trouble when we trade punches, I also do not want to know where the
opponent is coming from.”
On how he is so confident of defeating his opponent, the
Ajegunle-born pugilist said: “My coaching crew is working on me even when they
don’t know who my opponent is, but I’m being subjected to rigorous training
because they don’t want me to taken aback.”
