The first half of the encounter saw the Solid Miners' in firm control of the game but missed series of begging chances with Mohammed Shammasu, Ocheme Edoh and Jafar Buhari the culprits. Tayo Fabiyi then pokes home from close range in the 76th min after Ishaya Anyu does well to set up the lanky striker for the second goal before Jafar Buhari finishes off a Tayo Fabiyi move in the 90th min to make the game safe and ensured team’s passage to the Round of 32.

In a chat with Sportsportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Dogo who commended his players, however said the team will not get carried away with the victory but take each games as it comes.

“It was not an easy game not minding the outcome. All the goals were scored in the second half of the game. My players played their hearts out against a resilient MFM. They gave us a run for our money and I must commend my boys for this victory. They played better than MFM side I must tell you. After rejoicing with the players after the final whistle, I kept reminding them not to get carried away. We should not be carried way with this victory because there is a long way to go. Our aim is to win the cup this time around,” Dogo said.
