ENYIMBA goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai believes the team
bonding in the camp of senior home-based national football team will see them
through against Benin Republic in the final qualifier for next year’s
Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Kenya, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The CHAN Eagles are billed to travel out of Kano to
Cotonou for the first leg of the qualifier on Friday ahead of Sunday's game, and Afelokhai, who is one
of the four keepers in the Nigerian team did not see the Squirrels stopping the
Eagles.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after helping the Peoples
Elephants secure a vital goalless draw against Mountain of Fire and Miracles
Ministries (MFM FC) in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match
day 33 decided at the Agege Stadium on Sunday, Afelokhai said he is ready give
his best for the Super Eagles B team if given the opportunity to be in goal.
“The atmosphere in camp is okay, we have been moving
about as one, like members of the same family. The team bonding is good, no
discrimination even though we came from different clubs. You can see the way I
was playing with MFM players, Sikiru (Olatunbosun) and Odey (Stephen), that is
the kind of spirit we have in camp. I believe that the team bonding will help
us beat Benin Republic and by the grace of God we will qualify for the CHAN
competition,” the former Kano Pillars goalkeeper told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
