BENIN Republic International, Fabiyi Olaniyi Emmanuel, who spent
the early part of the season with Gombe United has rejoined Sunshine Stars of
Akure till the end of the season, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
King Fabiyi, as fondly called, has been training on his
own since leaving Savannah Scorpions after he was attacked by the club fans
during their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) rescheduled match day
19 fixture against Rangers International which ended 3-3.He was brutalized amid
allegations he threw away the game.
Sunshine Stars' Media Officer, Chris Okunnuwa informed Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com that the goalkeeper, who had featured for the Owena Waves during
the 2014 season, will be available for selection for the NPFL match day 33
fixtures against Akwa United at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode in Ogun
State this weekend.
“We have signed and deposited a contract through till the
end of the season with our former goalkeeper King Fabiyi.
“Since we are not in the transfer season, he was granted
a waiver by the League Management Company to sign with us at this period.
“He has been training with us for the past two weeks now
and the coaches will decide whether to list him for this weekend clash against
Akwa United,” Okunnuwa told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
Sunshine Stars are currently occupying the 12th position
on the log with 42 points and the addition of the former 3SC and Abia Warriors
shot-stopper will be a major boost to the team as they continue with their
quest of escaping relegation at the end of the season.
