7th Muniru Muse Cup finals hold August 20

THE finals of the 7th edition of Muniru Muse Under-12 and Under-15 boys and girls football Championship will hold at  the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island on Sunday, 20th August, 2017.



Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the competition sponsored by the representative of Lagos-Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Oluremi Tinubu and organized by the Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association, kicked off on Sunday, 16th July, 2017.

Dolphin Queens will play Iru Queens in the final of the female category by 1pm, while Elite Academy will trade tackles with The Grace in the male category by 4pm.

Winners in each category will be rewarded with the sum of N250, 000; second placed will get N150,000; while the third placed team will go home with N100,000.

Speaking at the trophy presentation ahead of the final of the 7th edition of the competition held at the Lagos Central Senatorial District office on Thursday, August 10, 2017, Chairman Lagos Island East LCDA, Honourable Kamal Bashua Salaudeen, who represented Senator Tinubu, said the wife of the former Lagos State First Lady remain committed towards the sponsorship of the annual competition.

Hon Bashua on behalf of the Chairmen of Lagos Central Senatorial District also said the competition has continued produce talents for both local and national teams.

"This tournament is about talent discovery for our young male and female footballers who have hidden talents but do not have the opportunity and privilege to play to the extent they aspire and turn into professional.

"This is the seventh edition and I am pleased to say that it has produced players for both local and national teams.

"Senator Tinubu is 100 percent committed to the development of Sports at grassroots. For her to be sponsoring this competition in the name of her successor has shown her exemplary leadership.

"This competition was initiated by her predecessor and irrespective of that she has continued to sponsor it for the seventh time with huge resources every year in the name of her predecessor. It's just the kind of person she is which should be emulated. I pray that Almighty God will give her the strength so that this Senatorial District will continue to benefit from her," Hon Bashua said.
