Musa happy with ‘killer’ goal against Seychelles

By Akeem Lawal
SUPER Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa has expressed joy after registering his name on the scorer’s chat in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Seychelles in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series at the Stade Linite, Victoria, Seychelles on Saturday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

Musa, who justified the captain’s armband handed to him, opened scoring in the 15th minute with a left-footed ballistic shot from just outside Seychelles’ 18-yard box that hit the crossbar and bounced off the towering goalkeeper Dave Mussard’s back into the net to give Nigeria the lead in the 15th minute.

FC Porto defender, Chidoziem Awaziem added the second from a rebound in the 34th minute, before Changchun Yatai forward, Odion Ighalo eventually got on the scoresheet from the spot in the 57th minute, breaking his one year non-scoring run.

Nigeria have their first three points in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying in Group E that also include South Africa and Libya and Musa believes it is vital for the countries qualification for the tournament.

“Great team victory! 3 points to help us qualify for the African Cup of Nations. Happy to get a goal 🥅.Up Eagles 🇳🇬 🦅,” the Al-Nassr forward said on his verified Twitter account @Ahmedmusa718.
