FOUR-TIME Nigeria champions
Kano Pillars have assured that they will not underrate their opponents in the
group stage of the Aiteo Cup biled to hold at the Agege Stadium from 24th to
28th September, 2018.
The Masu Gida will compete
with Abia Warriors, Kwara United and Rivers United in Group C of the
competition and the club’s Media Officer, Idris Malikawa said the team is in
high spirit and Lagos fans should expect good football artistry from the
Kano-based team.
“The team will be in Lagos
on Saturday. We are ready as usual, you can’t underrate any team. We are hoping
for a good outing. The team is in high spirit and all necessary arrangements
have been put in place by the management to ensure that the team play well and
they have been directed to be good ambassadors to Kano Pillars, Kano State government
and the people of Kano. I believe Lagos fans will welcome us as we are just
coming to visit our brothers there.
“In any football match the
draws can put any team together considering that big teams are still in the
race. Definitely the people of
Lagos are expecting good display of football and by God’s grace Kano Pillars
will put up a performance that they would be proud of. Let them come and watch
the match at the Agege Stadium. I’m assuring that we are going to be one of the
best team and we are going to play by the rules of the game. We are going to
use this opportunity to promote the relationship and unity among football
family in Lagos and Nigeria at large.
“Forget about people saying
Northerners are around Agege, Kano Pillars is a national team, Pillars is a
brand that has supporters all around the country and everwhere you will see our
jerseys.
“Lagos is home for all
considering the fact that people come from various parts of the country and
they are welcomed in the state. I tell you that we are going to play good
football that Lagos people will be happy about,” Malikawa told SportingLife.
