Raheem Lawal resumes training, eyes return to Eagles

By Akeem Lawal
SUPER Eagles and Osmanlispor FK midfielder, Raheem Lawal has resumed full training with his teammates after missing two games due to injury, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The Nigeria international has played 17 matches for the Ankara-based side in the Turkish Super Liga and twice in the Turkish Cup this season has been out of action since their 0-0 home draw against Antalyaspor on a February 25, missing the team’s 1-1 draw at Kasimpasa and 2-1 home win over Bursaspor last weekend.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, the 27 year old hopes to be selected for the Osmanlilar’s trip away to bottom placed Kardemir Karabukspor at the Dr. Necmettin Seyhoglu Stadium on Friday.

“I am fit and I have resumed training with my team mate, and I hope to pick it up from where I stopped before the injury.

"I would not want to comment on our past games because we are in bad condition, the bottom line of the league. We will play our next game away to Karabukspor, this is a difficult game but I believe we can get the three points in this game. I hope to feature in the game but it all depends on our coach since we are playing away,” Lawal told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.

Lawal’s return from injury will be a good news for the Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr as he continues to build a solid team ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup with the midfielder serving as cover for Wilfred Ndidi and Etebo Oghenekaro in the current team.
