NIGERIA Professional Football League champions, Plateau United will host USM Alger of Algeria in the elimination fixture of the CAF Confederations Cup at the Agege Stadium in Lagos on Saturday, April 7, 2018, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

The Peace Boys are made to compete in the second tier CAF club competition following their exit from the CAF Champions League at the hands of Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel.
Media officer of the club, Albert Dakup informed Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com that the shift of venue became necessary due to the non-compliance of Rwang Pam Stadium to the CAF inspectors standard.

Dakup revealed that the club had to settle for Lagos after being given two stadium options by CAF which are Agege and Godswil Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa Ibom.

“CAF gave us 15 conditions that must be met for us to play in Jos and there was no way we could meet up before our next game against Alger. They now gave us two options, either Akwa Ibom or Lagos, even Kano was not even mentioned.

“Our match day 15 fixture against Wikki Tourists has even brought forward to Tuesday for us to make the trip to Lagos on Wednesday. We have to fly to Lagos on Wednesday for acclimatization. It will be a stressful schedule for us but the team is up to task for the encounter and we are banking on the support of Lagos fans,” Dakup told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
