MFM can beat MC Alger in Algeria, Ilechukwu boasts

By Akeem Lawal
THE coach of Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM FC) Fidelis Ilechukwu has revealed that his side can do the unthinkable by beating Mouloudia Club D’ Alger in the return leg of their CAF Champions League first round match in Algeria.

The Olukoya Boys recorded a 2-1 slim victory over the Algerians at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium on Wednesday thanks to Monsuru Bashiru's 84th minute screamer after Abdulaziz Ammachi had cancelled out Chijioke Akuneto’s opener.

MC Alger have made their home ground, the Stade 5 Julilet 1962 a fortress after defeating AS Otoho 9-0 in the return leg of their preliminary fixture, despite losing 2-0 in the first leg in Congo.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com after Wednesday's encounter, Ilechukwu, who admitted that it will not be an easy game in the return leg, revealed that the team will take the risk in Algeria to book a place in the knockout stage of the money spinning competition.

“To me we have a lot of work to do in Algeria. The only thing we can do in Algeria is to go for win and we will take the risk. It is either we win or lose. I know it will be difficult but in football anything is possible.

We have all it takes to win there and we have all it takes to qualify, that is my believe. They are a tactical side and we have advantage as well, we will not give up.

“I don’t want to know if they score many goals at their home, I have good defenders that will do the job for us too.

“We will prepare for the weather too. We had the advantage of Sun here but we did not use it,” Ilechukwu said.
