THE Nigeria Custom Service
(NCS) female volleyball team began their campaign at the 2018 Women's African
Volleyball Club Championship by coming from a set down to beat Injis Volleyball
Club of Cameroon 3-1 in the opening match in Pool D at Ahly Halls in Cairo,
Egypt on Tuesday, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Nigeria ladies lost the
first set 25-23, but rallied back to win the remaining three sets 23-25, 14-25
and 21-25 to secure a valuable victory over the experienced Cameroonian side.
The coach Usman Abdullahi tutored side will
now face five-time champions, Kenya Prisons on Wednesday.
The team will then face yet
to be named team on Thursday before taking on ASEC Mimosas of Cameroon on Friday
and Douanes of Burkina-Faso in the last group game on Saturday.
In other opening match, Vision
Volleyball Camp from Uganda defeated DSGP of Congo Brazzaville in pool C opener
3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-18), while defending champion CFC Carthage of Tunisia
dispatched Algeria’s Chlef by three straight sets (25-12, 25-15 and 25-14) in
Pool B.
