NEWLY appointed Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Coach
Abubakar Bala says winning his first game in charge of the team will go a long
way in motivating the players as they continue their quest to escape the drop
this season.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the Harmony Boys came from behind to beat
Kano Pillars 2-1 in one of the Match Day 14 games of the Nigeria Professional Football League decided at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin on Sunday.
The Sai Masu Gida took the lead through the league
leading goal scorer Junior Lokosa in the
27th minute but Sunday Ikechukwu leveled
up in 65th minute before Lukman Binuyo’s 70 minute stunner from outside the box
cemented the victory for the home team.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, the Flying
Eagles Assistant coach said that despite the initial setback, he always believe
the players will rise to the occasion as the team dominated all through the
encounter.
“We thank God for the victory because it worked out as
planned. Their goal was a defensive blunder on our part and they capitalize on
it. But generally the game was under control throughout.
“We have been training to make this match a turning point
for the club at least to give them that confidence and winning mentality for
them to be able to change their mindset to a positive one. They can do it and
turn the result around in their favor.”
While dedicating the victory to the teeming fans of the
club, the former Niger Tornadoes coach said, “The support from fans was very marvelous and I really
dedicate this win to the sports loving fans of Kwara State. They gave us a
wonderful support and that really spur us to victory. The fans love good
football and we have it to them".
Kwara United who are still rooted at the bottom of the
table with 14 points from 13 matches will next travel to Akure to face 18th
placed Sunshine Stars in matchday 15 encounter.
