RIO OLYMPICS: First winner emerges as NOC, Chisco plan to take 10 to Brazil

FIRST lucky winner has emerged in the raffle launched by the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) in conjunction with Chisco Transport Company to raise funds for its athletes ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The new promotion tagged "Experience Brazil" will afford ten Nigerians to enjoy all expense paid trip to Brazil for the Olympic Games.


At the first draw which took place at the company's Chisco Group head office in Lagos on Wednesday, Mr. Felix with ticket number 43590 was picked as the lucky winner. According to information, the winner bought the ticket from the company's Jibowu terminal in Lagos.

The draw, which was well attended by customers of the company, journalists, regulators from the National Lottery and the NOC, is part of the company's efforts to reward loyalty, give back to the society and impact the lives of individuals that carry out business with the organisation.

The Chief Executive Officer of Chisco, Chief Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu (MFR) said the company will remain committed to sports development in the country.

"Chisco transport have always identified with sports in this country and is in full support towards its growth in Nigeria and African in general and as such this year Olympics can't be an exceptional, as we will always play our own part for the continental growth and development of Sports in the country.”

President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Engr. Habu Gumel who was ably represented by the committee's administrator, Emma Nweri, while lauding the partnership, welcomes more partnership from other organizations adding that, "There is need to support the athletes and then the government because no matter what government offers will always not be enough.”

Moses Chukwuka, special assistant to the chairman of Chisco Group Chidi Anyaegbu, said those who wish to participate in the draws but cannot physically travel can purchase tickets from all the company’s outlets at various locations across the country.

Isaac Osaikhiwu Isaac, the managing director of the initiative’s marketers O&I Contact, said the 10 winners would be assisted with obtaining all the relevant travel documents by the NOC.


"The winners will be transported to and from Rio. They will be provided accommodation and feeding for the duration of the Games," he said.
