FEDERATION CUP: Prime won't underrate Inneh Stars, says Afolabi

2012 Federation Cup giant killers, Prime Football Club will be up against Inneh Stars Football Club of Benin, on Wednesday at the Onikan Stadium in the Round of 64 Federation Cup pairing.

Pime FC are slight favourites to win going by their recent form in their pre-season friendly matches which has seen them been unbeaten in their last five grade A friendly matches against Crown, ABS, Gray's Intl FC and Ajiroba Ooni FC.

The Shina Afolabi led side have been solid in defence but too wasteful in front of goal and Afolabi is adamant things must change beginning with Wednesday's game against Inneh Stars.

Inneh Stars will be coming out for an upset and to put a smile on the faces of their fans.

The Omoluabi Giants will be without Wale Oyewo, Samson Ogungbile, Maxwell Moneke, and Omowande Dayo, who have played for different teams in the competition before joining Prime FC.

Coach Afolabi, will bank on the versatility of midfield maestro Hakeem Olalere, who is expected to form a formidable patch upfront with Victor Okeji, Lekan Agunloye, Tosin Olabode and Lekan Bola.

Olusola Akilapa, is expected to coordinate the defence line, while inspirational goalkeeper, Ayo Ojo, is expected to man the post.

“We are prepared for this game and I am confident that we have corrected the mistakes from our pre-season friendly matches. I am sure we will get a very good game against Inneh Stars."

“We will come out strong to ensure that we win and advance to the next stage of the competition. We won't underrate Inneh Stars and we shall take every match like a cup final,” Afolabi told Prime FC Media.

The 'Believe and Achieve' side will seek a positive result against the non-league side so as to approach their first league match on Saturday against Unicem Rovers at the Oshogbo Township Stadium on a brighter note.
