CHAIRMAN of League Management Company (LMC), Shehu Dikko has revealed details of the multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with a private media outfit, Next Digital TV, Sportsbiz247.bligspot.com reports.

Few days ago, reports of the five-year broadcast deal with the Republic of China business outfit first broke but the details were not made available.

However, after a joint media parley with the top leadership of Next Digital TV held at the LMC corporate office Maitama, Abuja on Tuesday, Dikko said the partnership is aimed to have investment into the production of NPFL matches in both equipment and human resources to ensure the professional and efficient production of NPFL matches for distribution to all interested networks and platforms domestically and internally.

The 2nd Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who was quoted by the Twitter handle of the country’s league organizing body said, “The third pillar of the transaction is to ensure the marketing and sales of NPFL matches produced across all platforms in domestic and international markets, such as Pay TV, Free to Air, Mobile, OTT, Streaming, Highlights, Video on Demand, etc.

“The first phase of distribution is to commence through OTT Platform in partnership with @ 9mobileng.

“Commercialization of NPFL Rights to generate enough revenues into the system with NPFL earnings hugely optimized. Market and commercialize all available rights pertaining to the NPFL under several categories such as elite sponsors (Max of 8Nr based on industry category), associate sponsors (based on services and supply partnerships), advertising revenues from broadcast, in-stadia advertisement, gaming and data sales, among others, etc.

“Optimize and Collect all the revenues derivable from the project (both media and sponsorships) into one Pot for distribution among the parties as per the contract. The revenue forecast suggests that the NPFL will quadruple its revenue potentials and earnings through this project in addition,” Dikko said via @LMCNPFL.

Also speaking at the event, Next TV Chairman, Prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim said, “It has taken Dikko and I long to get to this partnership and we at Next Digital TV can assure all Nigerians that we are here to invest in production of games of the NPFL.

"We are going to go beyond OTT and with time ensure we have quality contents that can project the NPFL.

“We are not restricting it. We want to drive the projection of NPFL through OTT and digital technology and share the content with others who will be willing to use it whether it’s terrestrial, cable within and outside Nigeria.

“We already have a partner from Dubai (United Arab Emirate-UAE), Samsson and we hope through this partnership to take the NPFL to the Middle East “.However, the revenue forecast suggests that the NPFL will quadruple its revenue potentials and earnings through this project in addition to other benefits that will unfold later.
