SUPER Eagles forward Moses Simon has expressed his
delight after scoring a first-half hat trick for Nantes in their 8-0
demolition of Ligue 2 club Paris FC in the round-of-32 of the Coupe de la Ligue,
known outside France as the French League Cup, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
“ThankGod #alleznantes,” the 24 year-old posted
on his Twitter handle on Thursday.
The Nigeria international, who was in sparkling
form set the annihilation in motion by putting the La Beaujoire-Louis
Fonteneau giants ahead after 22 minutes, curling into the top corner from
just inside the penalty area.
Thody Elie Youan made it 2-0 eight minutes later before
Simon increasing the lead a minute later. The Nigerian who is on
loan from La Liga side Levante, turned provider for Ludovic Blas, who
made it 4-0 before completing his memorable hat trick just before
the break.
Second-half goals from Imran Louza, Ludovic Boas
and substitute Mehdi Abeid completed the 8-0 route.
Simon, who has been named in Nigeria’s squad to play
Benin and Lesotho in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers, will be hoping to continue the
form when Nante visit Bordeaux at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique on Sunday.
