NIGERIA Professional Football League joint top scorers
for last season, Mfon Udoh and Ibrahim Sunusi have assured Nigerians of goals
rain when Super Eagles B take on Sparrow Hawks of Togo in the second
leg of the 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier on Saturday in Lagos, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
Nigeria lost 4-1 in the first leg in Togo last month and Udoh said
they have worked on their being wasteful and will be more clinical when they
get the chance to score at the Agege Stadium.
“Everybody thinks it is a dicey situation and we also think
it is a dicey situation too. But I believe with hard work and determination, we
can surpass the score line and make Nigeria qualify for the CHAN 2020. We had
chances there but we just failed to convert them which we have actually worked
on it. I believe we are going to convert every single chance that we would
have in this particular game, “the Akwa United forward said.
Sunusi on the other hand said the team will be motivated
by the fans as he is focused on qualification only.
“For me, we are ready and by God’s grace we are going to
win. As they defeated us on their home ground, we will also beat them here too
and qualify for the 2020 CHAN tournament. The mistake we made in the first
match was that we relaxed after scoring the first goal. This time we are
playing at home, we have the fans behind us. I won’t promise that we are going
to score four or five goals, all I know is that we are going to qualify by
God’s grace,” the Nasarawa United striker assured.
