KWARA United players have
made out time to visit their team-mate Segun Alebiosu, who is recuperating from
an ankle injury.
The Harmony Boys were
without the services of their goal merchant during the 1-0 victory over MFM FC
in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 14 fixtures held at the
Kwara State Sports Complex in Ilorin on Sunday.
24 hours after the
encounter, Alebiosu was glad to receive his team at home led by the duo of
technical head, Coach Abubakar Bala and team manager, Oke Jimoh.
Alebiosu, who sustained the
injury in a motorcycle accident last month, could not hide his joy for the kind
gesture by the team.
"I was overwhelmed with
happiness when I heard the result. We definitely need the three points in
respective of the goal margin. By the special Grace of God, we shall win our
subsequent matches too. I am so happy seeing you around me always, nurse and
masseur were here yesterday, others were here again this morning, now everyone
is here, your presence has helped me a lot and aided my convalescence. Thank
you everybody for your love and support. Please let us continue to support our
darling team. I will join you soonest," he assured.
Speaking on the importance
of the visit in a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Coach Bala said it became necessary
so that the player will not feel neglected by the team.
“The visit is to see how he
is fairing and to also let him know that we are missing him, that he is still
part of us.
“He is recovering well and we
believe in two weeks time, he should start training. We missed him seriously
because he is a goal scorer and if he didn’t score, he creates chances for
others. We cannot wait to have him back in the team,” Bala told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
