ABS vs Sokoto Utd: Hassan eyes bright start for Saraki Boys

THE Technical Adviser of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC, Ilorin, Abubakar Hassan, has said he wants to start the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League (NNL) season on a brighter note.

The Saraki Boys welcomes Sokoto United in their opening game of the season in Ilorin on Wednesday.

Hassan, while speaking after his team's Tuesday training, said he has told his players that there won't be room for complacency because of the nature of the league this season.

The former Gombe United gaffer, who is unbeaten in all his test games, said he is confident that his present crop of players are good enough to give the fans the promotion they want to the elite league this season.

"The boys are responding to training and are in good shape ahead of our match with Sokoto United.

"Even though we would have love to have one or two weeks to fully ready, we are confident at the stage we are now in our preparations.

"Our target is to promote this season and this has been sold to the boys, so they are aware of the task before them," Hassan said.

Recalled that the Saraki Boys defeated a Lagos based academy, Danjuma Babes 1-0 in one of its test games and played out a scoreless draw away to Crown FC of Ogbomoso in another game.

The Ilorin-based outfit thrashed Osun United 3-1 in Ilorin and forced them to a goalless draw in Osogbo in the return leg.

ABS is in group A4 alongside, Mighty Jets of Jos, Giodano FC of Kano, Adamawa United and Sokoto United in the abridged 2018/2019 season.
