THE Technical Adviser of
Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC, Ilorin, Abubakar Hassan, has said he wants to
start the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League (NNL) season on a brighter note.
The Saraki Boys welcomes Sokoto United in their opening game of the
season in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Hassan, while speaking after
his team's Tuesday training, said he has told his players that there won't be
room for complacency because of the nature of the league this season.
The former Gombe United
gaffer, who is unbeaten in all his test games, said he is confident that his
present crop of players are good enough to give the fans the promotion they
want to the elite league this season.
"The boys are
responding to training and are in good shape ahead of our match with Sokoto
United.
"Even though we would
have love to have one or two weeks to fully ready, we are confident at the
stage we are now in our preparations.
"Our target is to
promote this season and this has been sold to the boys, so they are aware of
the task before them," Hassan said.
Recalled that the Saraki
Boys defeated a Lagos based academy, Danjuma Babes 1-0 in one of its test games
and played out a scoreless draw away to Crown FC of Ogbomoso in another game.
The Ilorin-based outfit thrashed
Osun United 3-1 in Ilorin and forced them to a goalless draw in Osogbo in the
return leg.
ABS is in group A4
