Ighalo has been listed in the star-studded Chinese Super League Team of the
Week for matchday 4 following his exploit for Shanghai Shenhua by respected football
statistics website, Whoscored.com, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Nigeria international reached
a landmark of 40 goals in the Chinese Super League after netting a brace to
inspire his side to a 5-1 thrashing of Beijing Renhe at the Hongkou Stadium
(Shanghai) on Sunday.
The Whoscored.com’s Super
League Best XI 4-4-2 formation, Ighalo with a rating of 9.8, was partnered in
attack by Shanghai Shenhua teammate Giovanni Moreno (9.3).
Ighalo’s other teammate, Fredy
Guarín, who also had an excellent performance with a rating of 9.8, Mousa
Dembélé (8.6) of Guangzhou R&F F.C, Fernando Henrique (8.4) of Chongqing
Lifan and Johnathan of Tianjin Teda in the midfield.
The defence line has Beijing
Guoan’s Wang Gang (7.5), Feng Xiaoting (7.9) of Guangzhou Evergrande, Gao
Zhunyi (7.6) of Guangzhou Evergrande and Li Lei (7.7) of Beijing Guoan, while Zhang
Chong (7.1) of Dalian Yifang is the team’s goalkeeper.
Ighalo, who joined Quique
Sanchez Flores' men from Changchun Yatai in February, has now scored four goals
in four games, which makes him the joint top scorer in the league with Israel's
Eran Zahavi.
The 29-year-old scored 15
goals in his debut season before netting 21 last season for Changchun Yatai and
four more this term to rack up 40 goals in 60 appearances.
