WEST African Boxing Union
(WABU) welterweight champion, Rilwan "Baby Face" Babatunde, will
return to action at GOtv Boxing Night 18, where he is slated to fight the tough
Ganiyu "Energy" Kolawole in a challenge contest.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the GOtv Boxing NextGen
Search graduate and former GOtv Boxing Night best boxer award winner, is scheduled to
join others at the event slated to hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the
Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, on 21 April.
For the fight, the WABU champion has promised his opponent hell.
"Energy will be in
trouble from the first to the third round, when he would be knocked out. I have
been out of action for a while, so I am rearing to return and do what I do
best: messing up faces. Energy will have his face thoroughly messed up. Quote
me. I will school him in boxing," he said.
The fight is one the eight
scheduled for the event, which will be headlined by the African Boxing Union
(ABU) lightweight title defence of Nigeria's Oto "Joe Boy" Joseph
against Ghana's Success "Brave Warrior" Tetteh.
The super featherweight
division will also feature a title fight between Ridwan "Scorpion"
Oyekola and long-reigning champion, Taofeek “Taozon” Bisuga.
Another big one is the
international light middleweight challenge bout between Akeem “Dodo” Sadiku of Nigeria and Republic
of Benin’s Ekpresso Djamihou in a light middleweight challenge.
Other big names slated to be
in action include Tawio “Esepo” Agbaje, best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 16;
Adeyemi “Sense” Opeyemi, best boxer at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 4.
The best
boxer at the event, to be beamed live on SuperSport, will go home with a cash
prize of N1million alongside the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
The show
will also feature three professional debutants, all graduates of GOtv Boxing
NextGen Search.
