SUPER Eagles vice captain,
Ahmed Musa is expected to feature for Al Nassr in Tuesday’s AFC Champions
League clash against FK AGMK at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium after
resuming training with the Saudi Arabian club, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.
The Nigeria international,
who was granted a compassionate leave following the death of his mother who
died recently after a brief illness, returned to the team last weekend as they
intensify preparations for the Asian Champions League fixture.
Since arriving Saudi Arabia
from English club, Leicester City, the former CSKA Moscow forward has been a
big hit in the oil-rich country.
After enjoying a good outing
in 2018, the pacy forward started 2019 on a blazing note, scoring two goals as
Al Nassr, romped to a 6-0 win over Al Jndal in one of the King Cup ties on the
3rd of January to take his tally to five for the Riyadh-based outfit.
However, that would be the
last time the former Kano Pillars' captain will feature as he reportedly
sustained a thigh injury in training, which ruled him out of the team’s
subsequent matches before the sad news of his mother’s death on January 24th.
Al Nassr shared pictures
Musa’s training with the team ahead of the match against the Uzbekistan outfit,
which shows that the Nigerian has gotten over the pain of the death of his
mother.
The 26 year old is expected
to return to action for Nigeria in the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations
(AFCON) final group qualifier against Seychelles and the international friendly
against the Pharoahs of Egypt.
