Captain of Plateau United
Football Club of Jos, Elisha Golbe says the team is highly motivated as they face
Akwa United in one of the matchday 4 Group B fixtures of the Nigeria
Professional Football League slated for today at Goodwill Akpabio International
Stadium, Uyo.
In a chat with Sportbiz247.blogspot.com, Golbe, who described the match as a clash of the titans, explained that after
recording their first victory in the three weeks old NPFL, the team is ready to
continue on that path as they seek to put their ambition of winning the league
back on track.
The Plateau United captain
who is also the vice president of the National Association of Nigeria Professional
Footballers noted that the team is not losing any sleep over the crowd trouble
that saw them banished from their fortress, the new Jos Stadium and assured
that they will always give their best irrespective of where they are playing.
Golbe commended the efforts
of the club management headed by the General Manager, Pius Henwan and the Technical
Director, Ahmed Ibrahim for their unflinching support to the team.
“We want to use this medium
to appeal to the League Management Company (LMC) to reconsider their decision to
banish us from Jos, believing that lessons must have been learnt by the fans,”
Golbe told Sportbiz247.blogspot.com.
