Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa has been thrown into a
state of mourning following the passing away of his mother, madam Sarah Moses.
The Nigerian international broke the sad news via his
Twitter account on Thursday described the day as a sad one.
“What a sad day of my life, just lose my mum 😭😭😭😭😭,”
the Al-Nassr striker posted.
Just two days ago, the 26 year old had called on Nigerians
to pray for her mother before she finally gave up the ghost on Thursday.
"I am sure being tucked in bed is not the best thing you
know to do. All your children are waiting for you to get out of bed and say 'I
am back in action'. Get well soon Sweet Mum!❤️🙏," he tweeted.
Late madam Sarah Moses, who was his father’s second wife,
was a Christian from Edo State. His father, Alhaji Musa was a Muslim originally
from the northern Nigerian state of Borno.
Following the untimely death of Musa’s father when he was
growing up, he along with his four older sisters were raised by just their
mother. Ahmed Musa mother supported his aspirations to become a professional
footballer after his talent was discovered at a very early age.
In a past interview, late madam Sarah stated that she
single-handedly nurtured Ahmed and her other four daughters when her husband
passed over 20 years ago.
“I am a Christian from Edo state and the father Musa was
a Muslim—this is why I am bearing Moses. The father was a kind and caring man;
a very generous man who took care of all his wives before he died. I am happy
today to see my last born being celebrated by the small and mighty. So, I thank
God for him and I am fulfilled,” she said.
