Sunshine’s Ocheje predicts tough game against MFM

By Akeem Lawal
SUNSHINE Stars goalkeeper, Moses Ocheje says the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 9 reschedule game against Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM FC) at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure on Wednesday will be a tough encounter.

The Owena Waves, who were stunned 1-0 by the Olukoya Boys last season, no thanks to Stephen Odey’s strike, now found themselves rooted at the bottom of the log after being deducted three points for breaching the LMC'S rules and regulations.

In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Ocheje urges the fans to learn from the sanction, even as he believes his side will come out victorious over the 12th placed MFM in Wednesday’s encounter.

“We are preparing well for MFM match as you can see we are the last team on the table and we need to come out strongly. Our next two matches will help us move out of this position and we are ready to give our best for the maximum points.

“MFM is a continental team and have a good squad and we cannot underrate them. Secondly, they won here, so we need to double our efforts to play them and I believe we will defeat them.

“MFM drew Lobi Stars at home and coming to Akure again, they know it is another work again, automatically it will not be an easy game.

“We are trying to plead with the fans, they have seen everything about the sanction handed to us. They have seen it already and it is left for them to learn from it. Though I don’t think the incident that happened the other day is a fan issue. It’s like a spectator throwing something and it hit the officials. Sunshine is a victim of such incident but we will take it from there,” the former Nigeria U-20 goalkeeper told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
