By Akeem Lawal
THE Management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos is to improve on its player’s welfare package so as to put them at par with their colleagues in other clubs and serve as motivation towards winning the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title this season.

General Manager of the team, Pius Henwan who gave the cheering news during a brainstorming session held between management, technical crew and players at the club house in Jos, praised the team for returning to the top of the league table.

While disclosing that efforts are being made to ensure that their welfare are being well taken care of, Henwan explained that their traveling allowances and match bonus as well as camping allowances will be increased so as to reflect their status as a topflight club.

The general manager challenged them to exhibit more discipline, hard work and commitment towards the club aspiration of picking a continental ticket at the end of the season.

He challenged the team to remain focused by winning their last two matches of the first round so as to retain their place at the top of the league table.

Henwan, while appreciating Governor Simon Lalong for creating the enabling environment for the team to thrive this season, appealed to the players to avoid acts capable of derailing their focus and win a trophy as a sign of appreciation to the governor and the people of Plateau State.

The Peace Boys who are back on top of the league table will not be on duty as their opponents in this weekend week 18 tie, Enugu Rangers will be on continental duty in the CAF Confederations Cup this Sunday.
