Former Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM FC) striker, John Okoye Bosco has helped his Turkish Cypriot football club side, Yenicami Agdelen S.K to secure the 2016/17 K-Pet Süper Lig with six games remaining to the end of the season.

Yenicami, one of the most popular football teams in Northern Cyprus will be presented with their 8th league trophy during their home game on Sunday against Kaymakli at the Nicosia Atatürk Stadium.

The North Nicosia-based outfit won the league three times in a role out of four seasons will also be presented with 2nd star badge.

The Nigerian forward, who became the first person in the history of the 61 year old league to score five goals in a game in a 9-0 demolition of Lefke earlier this season, is up for the top scorer award after netting 28 goals in 23 matches for his side.

Okoye, who scored six goals in seven games for MFM to help the Olukoya Boys gained promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League in 2015, will be looking forward to add to his tally when they face 2nd placed Kaymakli later on Sunday.

In a chat with SportingLife, Okoye said he is happy to achieve such feat in his first season at the club.

"My aim of playing for them, which is to win the league, has been accomplished.
"This would be the 8th time the club will be crowned the league champion and we would be presented with 2nd Star Badge.

"Four championships make one Star, so now I am part of the players and team to give my club 2nd star badge. I'm really grateful to God, "he said.
