Saraki (ABS FC) coach, Henry Makinwa says the 1-0 win over
Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 18
encounter felt like winning the NPFL title.
Central defender, Ernest Governor's free kick from 25 yards helped the Saraki Boys end their run of
six consecutive games without a win.
Makinwa, who believes the team is suffering from fatigue, told SportingLife that the win came at the right time.
Makinwa, who believes the team is suffering from fatigue, told SportingLife that the win came at the right time.
"This victory came at the right time, it is like
winning the league. You can check the record, I've not drawn one game at home,
but we drew two games consecutively and these boys believe some people are
behind the team's loss of form. The game was going to an end and we thought we were
going to draw again. Everybody had lost hope already and the goal just came
like that, it called for celebration. If you saw the way we celebrated, the
boys from the bench, everybody were so excited.
"They believe that the jinx has been broken, you
know our African mentality. But for me, I believe it is fatigue from traveling.
We played Rivers United on Thursday, came from Port Harcourt on Friday, rested
on Saturday and we played on Sunday. Traveling for 15 hours takes toll on the
players, " Makinwa noted.
