Bala worried over Tornadoes’ conceding of late goals

By Akeem Lawal
NIGER Tornadoes Coach Abubakar Bala says he needs to quickly make corrections to the late conceding of goals by his team.

Bala expressed his concern after his side lost 2-1 to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in the Nigeria Professional Football League match day 18 held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba in Ibadan.

Faleye Sunday had put the host up following a counter attack in the 36th minute, before substitute Ammeh Wilfred Angel drew level in the 76th minute.

Assiri Emmanuel's strike in the 81st however secured the victory for the host.

Bala maintained that if his boys had taken their chances, it would have been a different story.

“I have to correct the situation where we concede a late goal, this is becoming a tradition.

“We conceded at home against Sunshine Stars of Akure and also did same with Lobi Stars of Makurdi, I have to find a solution to this problem," he said.

Niger Tornadoes still occupy the 4th position on the NPFL log after match day 18. The team will on Sunday play host to Kano Pillars at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
