Professional Football League champions, Plateau United have been handed a huge
injury boost with confirmation that one of their star players, Kabiru Umar has
nearly returned from injury.
In a chat with
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Umar who played a major role in Plateau’s 2016/2017 title
winning season is delighted to be back from the injury that has ruled him out of
action for over a month.
“It’s been almost one
month and three weeks that I have been injured but I thank God I’ve started light
training. The club tried for me during the period and they have settled all my
expenses incurred during my treatment. I appreciate our general manager, coaching
crew and my team mates for their concern during the period,” Kabiru told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
The Peace Boys are currently occupying the 4th
spot on the league table with 28 points with two more games at hand due to
their involvement in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup and
the former Kano Pillars point-man believes the team is still on course to retain
their title this season.
“I am not happy that
we are now out of continental competition. The fact that I couldn’t help the
team in our continental engagement due to my injury really makes me sad. Now
our focus is the league and I believe we can still retain our title,” Umar told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
