NIGERIA female wrestling sensation, Odunayo Adekuoroye and
other Ondo State-born athletes have been assured of support by the state
government.
The Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Ondo
State, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye on Thursday in Akure, restated the commitment of
the state to celebrate athletes who have made the state and the country proud,
while receiving Adekuoroye who won silver medal at the recently held World
Wrestling Championship in Paris, France.
According to him, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is
passionate about the activities and achievements of the state athletes in
various national and international tournaments, hence his determination to
celebrate them.
"We are all very happy and proud of all the
achievements being recorded by Odunayo Adekuoroye in the world of wrestling and
we are determined to encourage her in all ways and give necessary support.

"We have resolved to always provide the platforms
and the enabling environments for our youths to excel in their chosen careers
especially in the field of sports.
"We hope to use Adekuoroye and others who are making
us proud as points of contacts for other youths to have new orientation and
create reasonable future for themselves", Ogunleye said.
Adekuoroye is one of the star attractions at the Governor
Wike National Wrestling Challenge Cup slated for Rivers State later this month.
