Balogun, Ekong, Omeruo, others celebrate victory over Argentina

SUPER Eagles players are in cloud nine after coming from a two goals down to defeat Argentina 4-2 in a friendly match decided at the Krasnodar Stadium on Tuesday.


A well taken free kick by Kelechi Iheanacho, a brace from for Alex Iwobi and a debut strike for debutant Brian Idowu ensure Nigeria began their Russia 2018 World Cup preparations in thrilling fashion by beating a world power Argentina in front of 22,739 spectators.


Kenneth Omeruo uploaded a picture of the team’s celebration in the dressing room on his Instagram page with the caption, “What an outing.. #Nigeria 4-2 #argentina proud of my brothers πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½ @ Krasnodar Stadium.”


Defender, William Troost-Ekong‏ through his verified Twitter account @WTroostEkong, said, “So Proud of the boys! πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Nigeria 4 -πŸ‡¦πŸ‡· Argentina 2 #SuperEagles.”

Leicester City midfielder, Ndidi Wilfred‏ also hailed the team for fighting for the victory.   
“Great fight from the team and a good win to start the preparation for the world cup πŸ¦… πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬,” he said via @Ndidi25.


Also Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho said via @67Kelechi,  “A wonderful performance from the #SupereagleπŸ¦… against #Argentina great goals. Thanks to all the fans for your supportπŸ’šπŸ‡³πŸ‡¬⚽️.”

Mainz defender, Leon Balogun‏ was not left out, saying, “Algeria on Friday was solid already. But today is kind of historical coming back like this from a 0-2 vs Argentina.  Considering the fact that we played like that system for the 1st time makes it even greater!! Up up Supereagles, up up Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ’š,” he said via @LeonBalogun.
