Friends of Rugby have announced that the CMB Building
Maintenance & Investment Company Limited sponsored South West League will resume its
second round of matches on Saturday, 18th November at the National Stadium NIS
pitch, Surulere Lagos.
Teams will swing into action as they intensify
preparation in their quest to improve and consolidate their positions on the
log with three games remaining.
After months of break, the newly appointed Technical
Director, Ntiense Williams expressed optimism that the last three set of
matches promises to be explosive with a lot of technical and tactical
improvements following the just concluded Referees course which was facilitated
by two top Zimbabwe Rugby Union referees educators and a successful hosting of
this year’s Lagos Independence Rugby Sevens Tournament three weekends ago.
Four matches will be played at the NIS pitch, National
Stadium Lagos on Saturday of September starting at 10:00 am.
The first match will be between bottom Division two side,
Panthers RFC and Second placed Eco II RFC at 10 am followed by Lagos Dragons
and table toppers; Gosar RFC at 12 noon.
There will be an explosive encounter between Premier
division teams as second placed Racing RFC will hope to shrug off a big
challenge from The Nigeria Police RFC who are sitting at number 3 on the log
and the last match will see table toppers; Cowrie RFC take on Lagos RFC who are
bottom on the log and still searching for their first win this season.
Rugby fans are enjoined to come all out and support the League
