THE technical committee of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation has 40 male and 29 female players into camp in Kaduna, Kaduna State.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the players are expected to report to camp on Friday 29th of January at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The technical chairman of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Martin Melandi said the camping is to prepare the female team for the U-18 Africa Nations Cup to be hosted by Nigeria in a proposed 6th and 13th of March, 2021 to CAVB and FIVB while male U-19 team is expected to feature at the U-19 Junior male volleyball championship in Madagascar between 20th and 28th of February, 2021.
The president of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Eng Musa Nimrod expressed optimism that the female team that came fourth in the last edition in Kenya will surely improve on the last result, while the male team that ruled Africa in the last edition in Tunisia is expected to defend the title in Madagascar.
The invited U-18 Female Volleyball names and positions are:
Setters: Gift Michael, Charity Joseph, Mary Ishiaku, Fatima Temitope, Nafisat Abdullahi and Maltida Michael.
Libero: Okewu J. Faith, Idoko Elizabeth, Esther Dominic, Anthonia Areshola.
Middle: Faith Wakiri, Mary Gane, Charity Paul, Cynthia Dakan, Edisiri Ogbhenepukewe, Nnawene Ebere, Samson Glory, Blessing Ebesimi and Blessing Ezinne.
Position 2 Opposite: Kelechi Ndakanbi, Sharon Fredrick, Hope Audu, Omshola Sofiat, Marvelous Chilota and Faiza Yahaya.
Position 4: Ruth .O Ozorugwu, Ibrahim Maryam, Ajayi Peace, Abdullakheem Aishat, Vivian Njoku, Deborah Akinshola and Veronica Omaji.
The 40 invited U-19 boys Volley Ball players and positions are:
Setters: Michael Digi, Alo Taiwo Daniel, Alex Jeremiah, Elisha Anobe, Oladipo Oluwatobilola and Abdulbasit Abdulrasheed.
Libero: Komolafe Daniel, Abdulrahman Aliyu, Babatunde Lawal and Junior Akama.
Position 4: Abuci Achi, Peter Mathias, Emmanuel Steven Ubah, Babalola Useni, Joshua Adama, Ogumlumba Paul, Phillips D. Jones, Timothy Ofunlumba, Innocent Ukpabia and Kinze Jerry.
