NIGERIA international, Francis Uzoho made excellent saves as he helped APOEL Nicosia secure a valuable point in their 1-1 draw with AEK Larnaca in a Cypriot First Division Game Week 15 at the Neo GSP Stadium on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper, who made his first league appearance this season in APEOL’s 3-0 win over Ermis last weekend after recovering from a long-term injury, did not disappoint Coach Savvas Poursaitidis once again after being handed his second league start against AEK.
The visitors took the lead in the the 58th minute through Ivan Trickovski but the home side rallied round immediately as Viktor Klonaridis leveled the scoreline two minutes later.
According to match statistics, the 22-year-old made three saves out of the four shots on goal by their opponent, during his 90 minutes of action to help his team move to the 10th spot on the log.
Recalled Uzoho kept a clean slate on his debut for APOEL in a 4-0 triumph over PAEEK in a Cypriot Cup fixture back in October, 2020.
The game against the second division outfit saw him return from a long injury layoff that spanned over one year.
Uzoho suffered ruptured ligaments and was carried off on a stretcher after the hour mark during the Super Eagles’ 1-1 international friendly draw with Brazil on October 13, 2019 at the National Stadium, Singapore.
