Ighalo chilling out in Dubai

By Akeem Lawal

FORMER Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo is currently relaxing in Dubai, the capital of United Arab Emirates after ending his loan move at Manchester United, Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports.

On Monday, Ighalo said an emotional goodbye to the Premier League side, a club he has always wanted to play for since he was growing up in the Lagos ghetto of Ajegunle.

The Nigerian made a key contribution to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team at the end of last season, scoring five goals in 19 appearances as United reached the semifinals of the FA Cup and Europa League, as well as finishing third in the Premier League to secure a return to the Champions League.

The 31-Year-old striker who is expected to return to his parent club Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League, however uploaded a picture of himself while chilling at Beach By Five, located at popular party hotel Five Palm Jumeirah Dubai on Friday, fueling speculations that he settle with one of the top clubs in the United Arab Emirates.

The former Watford goal poacher was reported to have received a £7m-a-year offer from an unammed Dubai club.

Sportsmail revealed earlier this month that the former Nigeria international has openly admitted he would be keen on a move to play in America in the Major League Soccer (MLS).

David Beckham’s 2018-founded Inter Miami side is a potential option. Inter Miami also has former PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi and former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain in their ranks.

Ighalo, a member of the 2019 AFCON bronze winning Super Eagles team had also been linked with clubs in the English Premier League, Saudi Arabia, Qatar as well as in Spain.
