NIGERIA international, Henry Onyekuru scored twice on his return debut to help Galatasaray beat Gaziantep FK 2-1 in a Turkish Süper Lig Game week 22 encounter held at the Gaziantep Stadyumu on Friday.

The Super Eagles striker, who completed his loan transfer from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco on Tuesday and joined the first team training session a day later, was introduced in the second half with the game still goalless.

Onyekuru paid back the faith shown in him by Galatasaray and manager Fatih Terim upon his return to the Turkish Super Lig side by breaking the deadlock five minutes after his introduction with assist from Ryan Babel.

The 23-year-old then increased the tally in the 79th minute with a well timed run to slot the ball past goalkeeper Günay Güvenç after receiving a thorough pass from Muhammed Aktürkoğlu for his brace.

The home side however reduced the tally in the 98th minute Alexandru Maxim’s penalty.

The match which also have Onyekuru’s compatriot and teammate, Oghenekaro Etebo playing for 15 minutes after replacing Emre Kılınç in the 75th minute, saw the Yellow-Reds moving to second on the table ahead of Fenerbahce, but the latter have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Onyekuru gave glory to God for scoring the two goals.

“To God be the glory! Grateful for the victory and to be able to get back scoring Soccer ballSoccer ballYellow heartRed heartLove-you gesture,” he wrote on his Twitter account after the match.
