FORMER Super Eagles forward, Daniel Amokachi joined millions of football fans worldwide in paying tribute to Argentine legend, Diego Maradona.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that Maradona passed away at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack at his home in the San Andres neighborhood in the town of Tigre on Wednesday morning.
This news has come via the Argentinian newspaper Clarin, who state that Maradona had been living in this area since having surgery for a blot clot in his brain.
Amokachi, a members of the Nigeria’s 1994 squad that played against Maradona at the World Cup in USA said he lost a friend, whom he described the 1986 World Cup winner as the greatest footballer of all time.
“Sad day... today I lost a friend, the greatest of all time Diego Armando Maradona, Rest on brother, u are in a better place #RIP #LEGENDARY,” Amokachi tweeted.
