Gov Ikpeazu Pre-Season: Enyimba, Plateau Utd begin campaign

NIGERIA representatives in the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League Enyimba International will on Sunday take on Cynosure FC, Abakiliki, while Plateau United of Jos will tackle Abia Greater Tomorrow in the match-day One of the Governor Victor Okezie Ikpeazu Pre-season Tournament holding at the the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

Enyimba, who are drawn against Abia Comets of Umuahia, Jewel FC of Aba and A&A FC of Calabar in Group A and Plateau United who will campaign in Group B against Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia, Flight FC, Gboko and Ngwa Utd, Aba will be using the tourney as preparations for the continental showpiece.

 

Enyimba will welcome FC Rahimo to the Aba Township stadium for the first-leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round on the 27th November, while the reverse fixtures will be played in Ouagadougou on the 4th of December.

 

Plateau United on the other hand will host the Tanzanian Kings, Simba Sports Club in the first meeting later this month, before traveling to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Uhuru Stadium for the return leg in December.

 

According to the fixtures released by the organisers, the tournament will kick off by 10 am with a game between A&A FC and Abia Comets, while Flight FC will tackle Abia Warriors by 12 noon. Plateau United’s game against Abia Greater Tomorrow will come up by 2pm, with the Enyimba’s match against Cynosure being fixed for 4pm.
