The Technical Adviser of Kwara United, Abubakar Bala has
shifted his attention to the final the Gold Cup preseason tournament against
Sunshine Stars billed for Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure on Saturday.
Bala guided the Harmony Warriors to beat Cynosure FC 4-2
on penalties after playing 1-1 draw in the normal regulation period of their
semifinal clash on Thursday.
In a chat with Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com, Bala rated the
annual Gold Cup tournament as the most competitive preseason competition in
Nigeria.
“I’m very happy to get to this stage. This is the best
testing environment you can have all over the country, that is the Gold Cup
tournament. It is the most competitive preseason tournament whereby if you do
well and getting into the final, you will know that your team is fully
prepared. I’m happy because this is the third attempt and this time around we
thank God that we are through to the final.
Bala said Cynosure FC gave a good account of themselves
in the semi final clash.
”I have seen two of their matches during the preliminary
stages and I know they are a very good team. One thing that is very interesting
and very good about Cynosure is their
team work and their fighting spirit. It will be very difficult to see a team
like that in the premier league. They will give you that fight, team work and
would have that spirit. You know, all these boys want to do their best,” Bala
told Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com.
